National and Global Commitment
We further commit ourselves to deepening our participation in the following global or national actions of Canadian churches and their partners:
advocating for specific strategies to eliminate women's poverty and for policies and programs to end all forms of violence against women;
promoting resource allocation strategies, such as agrarian and fisheries reform, that benefit the poor, the landless, and those whose livelihood is threatened.
Challenge to the Canadian Government
As we make and keep these commitments, we challenge the federal government to keep the commitments it has made at international events such as The World Summit for Social Development held in Copenhagen and the Fourth UN Conference on Women held in Beijing, for a fair distribution of wealth in the world. Statements of hope for a more equitable world expressed at those events must now be transformed into concrete action. Therefore we ask: what evidence is there that the federal government is implementing policies to meet the national and global commitments it has made?

Several members of the congregation write letters on behalf of persons throughout the world whose human rights have been abused. Letters are written at home and are made available to members of the congregation to sign during the Sunday coffee hour.
Bridgehead http://www.bridgehead.ca/
We continued to sell the products of Bridgehead through our own church and other churches in the Ottawa area. Children from the Sunday School continue to assist by selling products in Morgan Hall during the coffee hour. The money allows more third world farmers and craftspeople to receive a better profit for the fruits of their labour.
