Red Stocking Appeal

Last year, we renamed our annual end-of-year appeal in support of Carleton Memorial the “Red Mask Appeal”. It was in recognition of the challenges we had faced as a faith community with the closure of the church and very limited in-person contact. However, we have been able to re-open the sanctuary for Sunday services as of the end of September, and we are once again able to worship together while still observing public health protocols.

We are grateful to have Reverend Matt Gallinger lead our Sunday worship services twice a month and to have Reverend Trish Elliott and lay worship leaders for the other Sundays. We are grateful to have live music return under the leadership of Carol Gurofsky, with her masterful playing of the organ and piano. We are grateful for the ongoing work of Agnes Malkinson, our office administrator, in supporting the virtual and administrative needs of the church. We are grateful for our cleaner, Chantal Dumoulin, who helps to keep both us and the Day Care safe. We are grateful for the work of the Church Council and the church volunteers who have been faithful in their work throughout the pandemic.

And we are grateful for the front-line workers who carry out one of our more significant ministries – quality, affordable childcare through CMDC – and they have been able to do so with diligence and dedication throughout the pandemic. Indeed, CMDC has been able to remain open without a single case of COVID and has not had to suspend operations since the spring of 2020.

Resiliency and faithfulness have seen us through 2021, and with your support, we will make plans for the future. Please consider a contribution to our Red Stocking Appeal.

Our best of wishes to you and your family as we approach Christmas and share in the hopefulness of the Holy Nativity. Contributions to the Red Stocking Appeal may be made below.
